Hello all! This is the inaugural post on the soon-to-be-hopefully-somewhat-frequently updated blog for the Hebert Public Library in Port Neches, TX.

For those of you familiar with our little corner of Texas, you know that 'Neches' defies most phonetic rules and is pronounced "Nay-chiz" by the locals. Port is, of course, just plain old 'port.'

This blog is a work in progress, and may ultimately be contributed to by several people on staff. Something tells me that I, Skyler W., will be doing the heft of the writing. That's not a complaint, now! Every boat needs a captain, right?

In the very near future, I will be participating in the "Library Day in the Life Project," a semi-annual event that provides an insight into what a librarian does in a typical work day by essentially live-blogging all day long. Look for another post this week!

Cheers!
Skyler W.
